It's a wee bit nippy on the back porch this morning. Somehow, two birds managed to get in here. We opened the doors, and one of them flew out right away. The other is still hopping around in the rafters.
I should be inside getting ready for Christmas. The folks on the hill are coming for supper tonight, and all I've done so far is make a dessert. Fortunately, we'll not be serving anything that's too complicated or time-consuming to make - soup and finger food.
We didn't even put up a Christmas tree this year, not even our tacky 2-ft. tall fake tree. We were traveling during the 2nd week of December, and I was sick the following week. It seems a little late for decorating now.
But the presents are wrapped, and I think there's something for everyone. Go me. ;)
Tomorrow morning there'll be a big breakfast at Nanny's, then visits with The Granddaughters later in the day. And this year they're just right across the road from us!
Friday, there's the retirement talk with The Chief. I don't really know what to expect. Unless he already has something else in mind, my proposal will be to retire immediately and come back in 6 months as a part-time employee. Alternatively, there's work that I could be doing, if I had a place to do it, and he may have something up his sleeve in that regard.
